Waugh Infrastructure supports NZ Raptor Trust

Waugh Infrastructure Management has supported the New Zealand Raptor Trust over the years.

The New Zealand Raptor Trust, based in Timaru, is dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and educating the public about New Zealand’s raptors.

The charity cares for sick, injured, and orphaned birds of prey, providing them with the necessary medical attention and support until they can be released back into the wild.

For those who cannot return to their natural habitat, the Trust offers a haven. A key element of their mission is to educate the community, including running programs in schools, promoting awareness of raptors’ importance, and teaching what to do when encountering injured birds.

The Trust is home to various raptor species, including harrier hawks, falcons, moreporks, and little owls, all of which require careful handling and care, as it is illegal for unlicensed individuals to possess them.

The sanctuary, located on two hectares of land near the Sustainable South Canterbury Trust’s eco centre, continues to grow, supported by volunteers and sponsorship from local organisations.
