Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia New Zealand
IPWEA NZ (formerly INGENIUM) is an incorporated society that exists primarily to uphold and improve the status of engineering and public assets management in New Zealand. It aspires to achieve this through the objectives promulgated in its constitution.
Membership is open to persons in the service of or having served local government or provided public asset engineering and/or management services in New Zealand. IPWEA NZ has over 890 members as of 1 April 2009.
IPWEA NZ has five branches, which generally meet three monthly. Activities centre on training and education and exchanges of information and ideas.
The branches report to a national board elected each year by a secret ballot of IPWEA NZ members. The national board comprises – a president, the five branch chairpersons and six other members elected at large (one of the Board members is elected as Vice President). A Chief Executive provides the board with administrative support.
The board is a dedicated and experienced group well regarded in our industry. It is in a very good position to lead and advise on public asset engineering and management matters.
National Asset Management Support
NAMS is recognised as the knowledge centre for asset management, and we offer a range of seminars to support those in the industry. All of our training seminars are regularly updated to ensure a strong focus on the application of asset management.
We only use experienced practitioners to present our seminars to ensure that we focus on asset management theory rather than just a theory outlook.
We offer tailored courses to meet the specific organisation’s needs and offer a suite of courses on a range of asset management topics. We have delivered these courses throughout New Zealand as well as overseas.
Every NAMS Course is a mix of theory and analysis of actual case studies and practical examples with a range of exercises to assist in demonstrating the concepts.
Water New Zealand
Water New Zealand is a national not for profit sector organisation comprising approximately 1500 corporate and individual members in New Zealand and overseas.
Water New Zealand is the water sector’s principal voice, focusing on the sustainable management and promotion of the water environment and encompassing the three waters: fresh, waste and storm waters.
Pacific Water and Wastes Association
The Pacific Water & Wastes Association is a regional association of organisations operating in the water and wastewater sectors whose mission is to deliver quality water-related services that enhance people’s well-being throughout the region.
The membership comprises Pacific Island water and wastewater utilities and international water authorities, private sector equipment and services supply companies, contractors and consultants.
The Risk Management Society
RIMS membership is open to all professionals with risk responsibilities and provides practical learning, resources and connections for individuals at every point in their career.

Infrastructure Decision Support Ltd.
IDS (Infrastructure Decision Support) Ltd was established in 2008 to become an independent dTIMS distributor for New Zealand.
IDS is the newest member of the INGENIUM family. IDS has been set up as a not-for-profit commercial entity to expand the dTIMS project.
INGENIUM wholly owns the company. IDS has been registered with the Companies Registrar and has Charitable Status under the Charities Act 2005.
South Canterbury Chambar of Commerce
South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce provides support to obtain a wide perspective on business opportunities and business development. The Chamber is actively involved in promoting and supporting any project or business that improves the region’s business opportunities.
We liaise with district councils and other South Canterbury organisations for the common goal of South Canterbury.
