We celebrate 20 years of Grant Holland with Waugh Infrastructure Management Limited in August.
Grant is the true essence of what it is to be a Waugh Team member. He is supportive, caring, cheerful, always up for a chat, and always looking for what is best for his clients.
Thank you, Grant, for everything you bring to our team. Here’s to the next 20 years!
We asked Ross to reflect on the last 20 years with Grant on the team.
I have known Grant for about 25 years, having first met him in local government work as part of the Hansen User Group Committee in the mid-90s as we worked collaboratively to try and get the best results for our communities.
Grant and I have completed some really interesting projects for clients over the past 20 years, where our professional knowledge and strengths have been highly complementary, which makes for very enjoyable work.
I remember one national project where we ‘cracked’ the issue on a whiteboard, bouncing ideas off each other at 1:00 am. Working together to resolve complex problems was very satisfying, even if it was very late in the evening. We called it a night and regrouped the next morning to check that we hadn’t come up with something crazy (it was good) before sending what was a very good result to the client.
Over the past 20 years, Grant and I have established a strong personal friendship and an excellent collaborative professional working relationship. There are many good memories, and it is fair to say that Grant and I really enjoy working together. (Well, I know I do!)
Grant reflects on his over 20 years in the infrastructure management industry and his 20th year working with Waugh Infrastructure.
Twenty Years – Kapai!
More than 20 years ago Ross Waugh and I discussed the idea of working together. Ross made the comment, “lets get this right – I want us to be working together in 20 years and enjoying it”. At the end of the month that milestone is reached and we are definitely enjoying it.
At the Low Volume Roads Workshop last week another milestone was reached. Having a yarn with a young Southerner, I discovered I had worked with his grandfather! He was a mentor to me when I was much younger. That certainly indicates I’ve been in the sector for a while.
The people, places and variety have made the twenty years a real pleasure. I count myself fortunate for the amazing people I work with, within the Waugh Infrastructure Team, clients and the wider sector
Thanks to the people who have encouraged me along the way and the kind wishes being shared 😊
– Grant Holland
