From August 13 to 15, they attended the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA) NZ Low Volume Roads 2024 Workshop in Christchurch. What a suits-and-steel week!
“LVR 2024: Operating on a shoestring without tying ourselves in knots” is the full title of this year’s REAAA NZ workshop.
LVR brings together clients, consultants, contractors, and co-funders in such an inclusive way that you get a complete picture of the NZ approaches we’re implementing to address our key challenges.
A few takeaways from the workshop:
- The challenge is to go out there and make a difference.
- We were encouraged to do one new thing every year.
- We were also told that “operating on a shoestring 101” means doing the essentials well.
- The first sessions of Day 2 included presentations on new approaches to bitumen stabilisation methods, risk-based Temporary Traffic Management, Emergency Works prioritisation and management, and vehicle-based high-definition road surveys.
- Why do we do what we do? Because we care about our communities and the roads that connect people.
Kushla Tapper, Simon Hunt and the team did a fantastic job planning and running the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA) NZ Low Volume Roads 2024 Workshop.
