LinkedIn shut down its CardMunch business card scanning app in July 2014. It has offered Evernote as an alternative solution.

Having read the Fortune Magazine article on LinkedIn there was a reference to a really useful iPhone App called CardMunch.

This App digitised business cards, allowed you to save them to your iPhone contacts (mine are linked to MS Office 365 Exchange – which then makes them available across all my devices).

It also saved them to your LinkedIn address book and allowed you to send a connect request from within the CardMunch App after you have scanned the card.

I tried CardMunch this evening, and it worked perfectly. I saw it as a big help in managing my contacts in the infrastructure management industry, family and friends as well.

CardMunch was one of the more useful iPhone Apps I came across – it’s free and definitely was worth downloading and using.
