Let me share a very interesting video of a group who cleans Detroit’s parks and open spaces. They are known as the ‘Mower Gang’.
If you could recall, I wrote on Detroit bankruptcy, and its possible implications for infrastructure management.
I also mentioned in the Ingenium 2013 Conference Paper Series on the future of infrastructure asset management there would be a rise in volunteer work to maintain services, especially in the parks and property areas because of limited resources.
The video above manifests the reality of volunteerism in service delivery in Detroit.
Ordinary citizens realise the importance of doing cleaning the public places for the people to enjoy.
I have shared this video and written a more detailed post at Inframanage.com.
