Have you considered ISO 55000:2014 Asset Management in your AMP Update 2014?
ISO 55000:2014 Asset Management was published 15th January and is now available from Standards NZ.
An Australia/NZ version is currently under consideration and may be available by mid-year.
IPWEA has been fully involved in the development of ISO 55000 as outlined by Peter Way on its Asset Management Community of Practice.
In this link, Peter has provided a good high-level summary of ISO 55000 contents and issues.
ISO 55000 will integrate into NZ Asset Management practice, and you should consider the implications for your 2014 AMP update.
Key next steps with regard to ISO 55000 are:
- IPWEA is producing a supplement to the International Infrastructure Management Manual which will provide links between ISO 55001 requirements and IIMM Sections
- IPWEA is running webinars in March on ISO 55000 and how best to apply to your organisation
- IPWEA NZ is looking for expressions of interest for attending an ISO 55000 roadshow
There will be a reasonable amount of information in the next few months on how to start using and implementing ISO 55000.
I encourage you to keep up to date with this information as you undertake your Asset Management Plan updates.
